Not all Fugglers are created equal. Some variations and limited editions are commanding serious prices on the secondary market.
The Fuggler market has exploded over the past two years. What started as a quirky Kickstarter project has become one of the hottest plush collectibles on the market. But not every Fuggler sitting on a store shelf is going to be worth big money. Here's what separates the valuable ones from the rest.
The crossover Fugglers — Care Bears, Powerpuff Girls, SpongeBob, and Jaws — are consistently the most valuable. These limited-run collaborations combine two fan bases and production numbers are typically much lower than standard releases. The Care Bears x Fuggler and Jaws x Fuggler in particular have seen prices double within months of release.
The original Fugglers from before Zuru's involvement are the holy grail. If you can find an original Kickstarter Fuggler with its certificate of authenticity, you're looking at serious money. These were hand-made and each one is unique.
Within each series, some color variants are produced in smaller quantities. The metallic and glow-in-the-dark variants from the Fugg Stars line, for example, are significantly rarer than the standard colors.
Some Fugglers are only available in specific markets. UK-exclusive colorways, Australian market variants, and convention exclusives all command premiums simply because fewer were made and distribution was limited.
If you're collecting Fugglers for investment, focus on licensed collaborations, first editions, and anything marked as "exclusive" or "limited." Keep them in the original packaging — a mint-in-box Fuggler is worth 2-3x more than a loose one.
